How do you use speech and dialogue within an essay?? I understand the 4 types of speech but unsure as to how this is to be analysed and written about in an essay!!

Easy, direct/indirect speech may convey something about a person's characterisation, distance or social standing.

Whether its (free direct or indirect speech) or not can heighten or dampen the excitement as part of the narrative device due to the arbitrary side of it.
