I was under the impression the prize is for the best footballer in that season. Compare Ronaldo and Salah during the first 25 minutes of the final. If Salah had not been injured, he may have had even more of an impact. Salah has been the best player, though it is close between him and Messi.

Salah. He terrorised the Madrid team before Ramos dislocated his shoulder. If not win, he should come runner up. Ronaldo has not had the impact Salah has had on his team.

Ramos didn't do it on purpose. Plus, what a lot of people don't realise is that, Ramos was interlocked with Salah's right arm, yet Salah dislocated his left. Salah simply fell in an awkward position, therefore it's no one's fault. A lot of people are saying Ramos pulled his shoulder out it's socket. He must be a magician if he did that to the complete opposite arm without even touching it.



Ronaldo doesn't deserve it? He won Real Madrid 17 points. Without him, they'd be 7th place. With Ronaldo in the starting 11, Real Madrid won 71% of their games, without him, they won 43% just about. Super important since Ronaldo didn't play against most of the lower teams in the league, especially away. 28% difference massive for a team like Real Madrid.

In the Champions League (What ultimately matters) Ronaldo had a goal or an assist in 52% of Real Madrid goals. He scored every single winner besides in the final itself. After Ronaldo, the top scorer was Benzema with 5 goals, compared to Salah, Firmino, Mane all having similar stats of 9+ goals. Ronaldo one manned Madrid up to the Final and if anyone wants to argue the fact that all the goals were made for him, why didn't Bale or Benzema score 15 too.

For Messi: Barcelona without him won 60% of their games. With him 72% of their games. Only a 12% difference compared Ronaldo's 28% and slightly better than Liverpool winning 50% without Salah and 58% with. Individually; Messi 1.16 g/a per game, Ronaldo 1.18 g/a pg, Salah 1.15 g/a pg. Without Messi's goals; Barcelona would've dropped 14 points which would've still won them the league whilst being equal on points with Atletico Madrid. Salah won Liverpool 22 points. Without him they'd be 8th place. (These stats have shocked me too, I was hearing a lot about how much Barcelona rely too much on Messi, I guess it's not true)

It all depends on the World Cup. Ronaldo wins if Messi or Neymar don't win the World Cup. Messi wins it if he wins the World Cup even if he only scores like 3 goals. Neymar wins if he is the main man for Brazil and scores or assists 6+ goals and De Bruyne might have a shout if Belgium somehow win the World Cup (anything is possible).

One manned Madrid up to the final? Oh right remind me where he was against Bayern? Second leg against Juventus scored a penalty but was shite along with the rest of Madrid team. Don't make garbage up about one manned to the final. Otherwise lets say Madrid 10 manned against Liverpool yesterday because he couldn't dribble past Stephen Hawking.

Messi and Ronaldo are 1A 1B right now. League + Cup double against Champions league. Ronaldo appearing for 3 month stretch won't win him the Ballon D'or. All he needed to do was have a 7/10 performance but he was dreadful. Its completely open right now for him, messi, Neymar and even Salah if he can make the World cup.
