Hi - is anyone doing Castles in their GCSE History? What do you think will come up and where do I get the best resources? Love history but not sure on this subject ( or why even!)

Hi , thank you for this, not sure exactly why we were focussing on Castles since everybody else seems to be doing Medicine option. This is helpful though, thank you

That is why I had never heard of it. I believe it isnt just castles it is the Normans.
Yeah, we’re focusing on Framingham castle but nobody knows what they’re doing😂 guess we’ll bring the boundaries down for you
Yes best to revise about the Normans. They effectively created the stone castle as we know it. Motte and bailey castles etc from which most castles were derived. A huge proportion of British castles that exist today have Norman origins.
