Bristol VS Warwick

I am struggling to decide whether to put down Bristol and Warwick as my firm choice for studying Mathematics at university. Any ideas or pieces of information to help me decide?

They are pretty different environments. Any strong preference about where you fancy living? I believe that Bristol is notably more expensive - is this a consideration?
Potentially, I've heard mixed things about universities but I cannot decide which one I should firm.

What do you think about each? Were it me my thoughts would be:

Warwick - pros: very, very strong course. Warwick maths types are targeted for different careers. Also very strong if you want to progress to postgrad. You study with very keen, capable fellow students who seem to enjoy a less wild, city based lifestyle. Reasonable cost of living - probably very reasonable if you don't insist on living in Leam - but this may distance yourself from friends, depending on their preferences.

Said to have a good student union.

cons: location not the most exciting and students tend to have to commute to classes on busy, slow buses.

Bristol: pros - maybe not as highly rated for maths as Warwick but still very strong. Beautiful city - lots of people chose to go there for the lifestyle. Lots of graduates like to stay and work in Bristol once they have completed their degrees.

Cons: expensive - really expensive. Not much of an SU by all accounts which can reduce one opportunity for lower cost socialising and entertainment.
Warwick is one of the premier maths departments in the country, along with Oxbridge and Imperial - seems to particularly have some strengths in pure maths. Bristol is pretty much the next closest contender to those departments for maths, although I'm not sure exactly how wide the gap between them is. Warwick is definitely in a tier above Bristol though so, look at each course format closely and think through your reasons for potentially rejecting it carefully if you do so.

That said for a few areas Bristol may be better within the maths sphere - logic and set theory for example I believe Bristol is stronger in than Warwick (at the research level anyway). I also get the impression for theoretical physics and related areas of applied mathematics to that Bristol might be a bit better, as Warwick seems to leave the theoretical physics stuff to the physics department.

Yeh that's what I was thinking. I know Warwick is probably better regarded academically than Bristol but I wasn't too sure by how much.
