The Official IPL T20 Thread

Considering its the year 2020, and the format is...20-20, I figured we mas well call this the IPL T20 thread.

So auctions took place earlier than expected and most of the teams have now been selected, here's a look at some of the team changes:

Mumbai Indians

The reigning champions have retained a majority of their 2019 squad, including Rohit Sharma, the Pandya brothers, Japrit Bumrah, Quinton de Kock, Lasith Malinga, Kieron Polard, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Mitchell McClenaghan, Rahul Chahar, Anmolpreet Singh, Jayant Yadav, Aditya Tare and Anukul Roy.

Sherfane Rutherford and Trent Boult were sold to Mumbai by Delhi Capitals for a combined total of 4.2 crore (42 million rupees). Additionally, Dhawal Kulkarni has returned to Mumbai for 75 Lakhs (7.5 million rupees) from Rajasthan. In exchange, they sold Mayank Markande for 20 lakh to DC and Siddesh Lad for 20 lakh to KKR.

At the Auction, Mumbai only purchased 6 playes, the most expensive being the Aussie Batsman Chris Lynn at 2 crore, with Nathan coulter-nile returning to the squad for 1 crore and Saurabh Tiwary returning for 50 lakh. Mumbai purchased 3 uncapped players in the form of Mohsin Khan, DigvijayDeshmukh and Prince Balwant Rai.

Mumbai also released the following players: Evin Lewis, Barinder Sran, Ben Cutting, Jason Behrendorff, Yuvraj Singh, Adam Milne, Pankaj Jiaswal, Rasikh Salam, Alzarri Joseph and Beuran Hendricks.

Missed out Jofra who’s at Rajasthan. Although he is a doubt for them due to injury. Joe Roots bloody fault for over bowling him with his poor poor captaincy skills.

should be interesting to see which players are chosen for different matches. considering the tournament is in the UAE, conditions should be different to the spin-friendly pitches in the indian subcontinent.

Who do you reckon will reach the playoffs and who do you reckon will win?
you supporting RCB because your family from banglore or you supporting them because of kohli  ?

im a mumbai fan as im marathi (something of a minority in the UK it seems as nobody has heard of maharasthra (despite it having a population larger than gujarat and punjab combined) and most asians in the UK think mumbai is in gujarat or Punjab :colonhash:) but agree, RCBs batting lineup looks immense. Paddikal has had a great domestic limited overs season and gurkeerat is 1 of the most underrated batsmen in india imo. bowling attack could be better.

in anycase however, it should be interesting to see how different the UAE pitches behave vs the indian pitches.
fair enough. kxip have been a good team since 2014. you reckon rcb will make it out of bottom place after 2 years of misery?

forgot zampa is an option. moeen is a bit of a weird one tbh. i rate rashid a better bowler but havent seen international cricket this year so dont know if moeen has gotten out of the slump he was in last year.
