Heyy I’m applying for kcl child nursing are you?

Hi, I’m applying there to! And UWL. Hows your application going?
Hey guys, I'm a first year nursing student at Uni of Birmingham (MNurs Adult & Mental Health) and I just wanted to wish you all a massive good luck with your applications, you got this! It is really worth it, I remember when I was in year 12 stressing over it and thinking if I'll manage to get in. Remember to do deeper research into the role of a nurse than just the 6 C's that are usually the first port of call, look at diversity in healthcare, dealing with issues as a nurse etc.

And just a tip for the first year when you guys start in 2022, Anatomy and Physiology will be the hardest thing in the beginning, if any of you are doing A-Level Biology, it is sort of like what you did for it but it is level 3 and first year nursing degree is level 4, you'll start looking at the different diseases and problems that could arise in the bodily systems. It is going to be a lot but just work through it slowly.

Good Luck guys!
Hi, I have just sent my application for mental health nursing at Coventry for sep 22!!!

Hi...is it Msc or Bsc? Do you know if its blended learning???
Hi it’s Bsc and I’m not entirely sure how the course is working for September, currently it is blended learning but things may possible change by September, either way it has 2 10 week placements each year which will be face to face on wards/teams

Hi ...that's so kind of you. Is the course normally traditional face to face or is it stated as blended learning? I have a friend who is doing Bsc Nursing which is supposed to be face to face. Apparently, shes doing it online. Does it mean students are given the option to do online or face to face?
Hi, in all honesty I’m not entirely sure, I’m lead to believe the course will return to its usual practice of face to face. I am attending an open day on the 6th of November I can ask for you or if you wish to book on the open day go onto the cov uni website  best wishes

Hi, I have a couple of questions for people who are more aware of nursing courses:

1) Can I put Nursing down as my fifth choice after 4 medical school choices?
2) How competitive is a Nursing degree? If it is extremely competitive I will not put it down as my fifth choice.
3) Are there any universities for Nursing which don't have interviews?
4) How are applicants selected for Nursing degrees? Will they be more likely to get an offer if they have higher GCSEs/A-level predictions? Is it based more upon the personal statement? How important is the interview? Are there any other important criteria they use when selecting Nursing applicants?

Thank you so much to anyone who is able to answer any of my questions. Nursing is an amazing degree!

This is what I have done. I applied for 3 medical schools and 2 nursing degrees (an MSc from Exeter ABB and a BSc from Nottingham BBB)
Both of these unis interview but there are several that don’t - check websites obviously.

Ik you would have applied for med school by now so good luck!

congratulations on your offer. Got an offer for Msc Mental Health Nursing and still trying to put the portfolio of prior learning together. What are the major entries required to achieve a good portfolio

Please what the requirements you submit because I applied for the same course but they rejected and offered Msc Nursing. And I want the mental health nursing. Please what do you think I should do

Hi,
May I ask what you are stuck with on computers? Is it MS Excel giving you hassle? I am ok with Excel as well as VBA and know a fair bit about these "machines" - hold MS Office Specialist certificates PLUS MSc in computer science [with mainly java and SQL], so should be able to handle whatever issues you might have [also know a bit about nursing as I trained in medicine, too] - not known as Sheldon for nothing lol. :colondollar:

Be safe!

@LaurenW137

Hey this is news to me - I know most postcodes of London [W13 is actually Ealing if I remember right], but my knowledge as a walking GPS must be failing cos it looks like West London has expanded all the way to Wales lol - W137 my word - we must have beaten Tokyo as the biggest city in the world!! :colondollar:

Anyway best of luck c your application!
Just dropping in to say hello! I started Adult Nursing at Sheffield in September so I'm happy to answer any questions etc.

I'd definitely recommend Introduction to Nursing for First Year Students and also the Ross & Wilson anatomy & physiology book/workbook/colouring book.
