Anywhere that isn't the boobs / face / neck I'd say is fine.

Perhaps the hip would be best.

How big are you planning on making it?

If it's small, which will look a lot nicer with the thin lines imo, I'd say on your wrist or lower arm as you said or in between your thumb and index finger if its really small.

Good luck regardless though, very pretty tattoo!
I don't think it will be as small to put it on my hand. But yeah, the arm area is appealing to me cause I can have it at an alright size, not huge or anything. Don't want to draw attention to it, it's for me.

    Thank you

yh haha its possible one of the most painful places to get tattooed, along with chest, ribs and feet
Ribs and feet were always a no-no for me, simply because of the pain. And I am really bony there. This will be my first tattoo so I am a novice. Heck, I don't even have my ears pierced!

Excellent advise. :yep: I think face tattoos especially are ridiculous.

Right handed. Yeah, arm seems to be a popular suggestion, and I think I would like it there.

Should it be in a place that doesn't hurt too bad? Or do you not mind that?

I was considering wrists/lower arm area. I want to be able to see it with ease every day because it holds a personal meaning to me and I would like to be reminded of it (as pathetically soppy as that sounds ).
No, that is allright. That is your attitude and like this one of you. People who maintain their confidence are not so pathetic as you think. *

i vote upper arm too or calf. i have alot of tattoo knowledge
I would tend to upper arm, if I were the thread starter.

Upper chest? Shoulder-ish area? Can be concealed and allow larger sizes so less chance of smudging over time.

Oh, I am fricking terrified. I am fine with needles, it's just the thought of it. But I want something for myself, and I really like it.

Well this should give you a rough guide on pain...
    Spoiler:
    Show

Also visibility, perhaps you should go for an area that is easy to cover up, for your first tattoo.

Having looked at the tattoo and it's meaning I'd suggest maybe you put it on your chest, like right in the middle.
Not the least painful of places but it would suit the meaning.

When you decided to tattoo you? did you make a concrete decision where it has to be tattoed?*
