You clearly failed to addressed the point i made about causality and how something cannot come from nothing. If youre speaking from a scientific perspective nothing can be absolute you can only have evidence towards it but we were discussing about rationality and reasoning. So my point was its IRRATIONAL to believe particles etc came from nothing. You need an ultimate cause to start something and again there isnt anything 100% nothing is but using logic and rationality based off what i said its rational to believe god exists

a + b doesn't have to be 3 unfortunately. If you believe Christianity then you also have to believe in Satanism by the same logic, you can't pick and choose how the universe is. Just because you believe it doesn't make it true. I'm sorry :'(

This is what any religious argument reminds me of.

Are you a moron I mean you fail to understand basic comprehension. Where did i say a+b=3 or 2 the causality is something that is based off logic and rationality or else a lion can just appear in a room or a car magically appearing. This is irrational what i explained was rationality and did so well. OP asked that which i explained youre trying to be a smart ass when its widely accepted that causality is something that is logic everything has a cause and effect and you need an ultimate cause to create the first thing

People also believed the world was flat until a few hundred years ago, would that belief also be rational with todays evidence?

Actually, even the ancient Greeks knew the Earth was round, the claim that everyone in the Middle Ages thought the Earth was flat is a myth, but I understand the point you're making.
Yes, there's a whole lead of philosophical literature on this; read Plantinga's Warranted Christian Belief for an example.

are all useful too
Yes, I think so

Thanks for the material .

I am a bit wary of reading Plantinga though. I dislike his so-called reformed epistemology and his treating of faith as "properly basic" but he is well-known and I ought to know more about him.
