What would I write for a 6 marker about GM? Good luck everyone!
    Stuff like:
    Advantages:
    Increases yield
Decreases possibility of spread of disease
    Cheaper
Can be grown throughout the year
Can be grown in countries despite the climate.
No need to use pesticides etc, which can damage environment

    Disadvantages:
    Costly
    Bacteria could become resistant
    Could destroy food chains
    Unsure of long term effects

    etc etc

But of course develop them into full sentences and do +-+-+-+-+- Conclusion.

Thank you so much! What bacteria would it be that are becoming resistant? Best of luck for tomorrow.

Thanks, and most probably it'll tell you in the question. There was one like this about corn or maize plants and bacielius furenfipvkmswpb (something like that ) back along. I'll just get you the link..... But it almost always says in the question. Good luck to you too!

Question 9. I thought it was that, not exactly the question I remembered, but still linked. As of course in B1/2/3 you are told how bacteria become resistant to antibiotics, its the same thing

But isnt Question 8 asking to explain the steps of the actual genetic modification process, rather than how gm would help the crop?

    Hi

Let's make this a REVISION THREAD for the B1 exam. Let's ask questions and answer other members questions too for our own revision. Post messages/hints/tips to help us succeed in our GCSEs and let's ace this first science exam. :-) If you ask an exam question please include the number of marks the question is worth and give feedback to answers which wouldn't achieve full marks so we do the best we can. This is not a substitute for your own revision.

first question: Describe the effect of each of the toxins on the response by muscles

Look at question 5 (c) on the June 2014 paper for more details.
Don't worry, we don't need to know everything about every drug!
