Hey guys end of the second week and I've found it great so far, I got my first project given to me which is exciting. Just come back from the london induction which was great.

How did London go? Was it casual enough or formal? Any info on the course yet and how often will we get time off work to do it? Or maybe it's literally 5 days a week work and study in our own time?

Anybody who has had the email saying reserves would hear back before the end of September know how many new departments and location jobs there are up for grabs?

London was great about 230 of us were there. Office clothes to be worn throughout the day then around nine on the evening you get to chill for a bit so take some smart casual clothes. Its very busy and interactive, i came back exhausted but had a great experience. You do find out more info on your courses but its different for each framework. We get half a day study leave a week with one day a month you have to go to a sort of training day. Business administration apprenticeship the course doesnt start until December/January so we can settle into our positions. By the sounds of it we get 1-2 assignments every month to complete. They spoke about that in London they said they are trying to place about 200 more people by the end of November. Hope that helps.

I've loved it so far, everyone's been friendly towards me, i am the youngest there though. That i know of I'm the only apprentice to have started so far and one more to come in October. What about you?

Ah that's alright then! I haven't started yet but I think there's one more apprentice with me. Do you know if we have any big induction days with other apprentices in different departments? That would be good to meet up with more and get to socialise and meet new people

I phoned yesterday to ask for an update and she said that they are starting to work out placements for people on the reserve list. Most postings will be done next week and she told me to phone back towards the end of next week if I still haven't heard anything by then :smile:

hey I'm on the reserve list too, i was just wondering if you had to make quite a few attempts to get through on the phone as i've tried quite a few times today and not been able to, also was nadine able to comment on you personally to confirm you had a post or was she speaking about the reserves generally? thanks :smile:

I'm just worried that there may not be enough postings availible for everyone in correct locations? Because I'm on reserve too, and rang and they said that they should be in touch with everyone by the end of September

Same but from what I can tell they do prefer for you to be close to home- that's what they told me at my interview

Well they definitely said they prefer for you to and someone I know went for a job a year or so ago with the DWP in Sheffield and they said the furthest they'd be prepared to send them would be Doncaster so it's clearly a bit of a policy for them

I've tried phoning several times today and it just goes to a recorded message saying sorry you couldn't get through try later... I'll probably try a few more times id just really like to know either way now
