SQA Higher chemistry 2000

Does anyone have the answer scheme for sqa higher chemistry 2000 and 2001 past papers? Need them asap. Help would be much appreciated! :smile:
hey..I don't think they have the 2000/1 because that's way too long ago...you might be able to get it of your teacher? :tongue:

Wow going retro now
You would be best to ask your teacher. I know for Physics my school has past papers that old but I don't know about Chemistry. Good luck anyway!

EDIT: I've found a 2001 marking scheme, but I'm not posting it because:
1) it's part of a ridiculously big pdf
2) it's my school's and it's quite probably illegally photocopied

Are there any specific questions you want me to check?

If you mean in multiple choice, D.

If you mean in written (oh God I have to try and type this formula :P):

a) ------CH------CH2--------
|
O
|
C=O
|
CH3 [and it's 3 of those together]

[EDIT: the bit with the O, C=O and CH3 should come down from the CH - formatting difficulties :P]

b) stronger intermolecular bonds in vinyl acetate due to hexane having van der Waals' forces only or vinyl acetate having permanent dipole interactions
