In relation to my question (about being stuck on the second part of '6B') I entered it all into the quadratic formula and simplyfied it all down to get x = -4.61369649 and x= -9.38630351
Anyone else get that?

dan_0202, you neded to download the PDFs, and upload them so we can download them.. it would be really helpfull!

Regards,
Quadratic formula answer is x = 1.21/-3.53

Wow. Care to explain how you got there? It would really help..

it is very unlikely they will put in a sin graph question, there hardly ever are.

Yes, it is very unlikely, but a sin graph question did actually come up once a few years ago (2008, I think) so I wouldn't be all to suprised if they decided to do it again.

Also, shifts and stretches of sin graphs are on the cirriculum but according to my maths teacher, they have been underused as there is a lot of complaints that it is a very difficult.

Here is the predicted calculator paper, so far it won't let me upload the mark scheme but I'll carry on trying.

From the previous question, you know x3.5x \geq 3.5

So xx is going to be bigger than 3.5. It then asks for the smallest possible WHOLE value of xx

The smallest value would be 3.5 but that is not a whole number so you need to the nearest whole number from that which would be 4 (it wouldn't be 3 because that wouldn't fit the inequality x3.5x \geq 3.5)
