What's the difference between psychology and applied psychology?

I'm currently working on completing my uni application to study psychology and I've decided I definitely want to study psychology on its own but I have literally no idea what's different about applied psychology  even my teachers don't seem to know.. can anybody who's studying it help me?
One's sociology. :dontknow:
is applied psychology not stuff like clinical, educational, forensic etc?
Applied psychology tends to have third year modules that focus on practical applications to psychology... based on the courses i saw last year.

Read the program spec online?

As far as the modules go they're practically the same.
