What is it like studying psychology at uni of Leicester?

I haven't seen much about studying psychology at Leicester so I am open to hearing peoples experiences. If i could also hear about what living in Leicester is like, that would be great too.

Hi there

I'm really excited to answer your question as I am a psychology student at Leicester!! I am currently in my placement year (between year 2 and year 3).

Just to list a few of my favorite things:

Diversity at the university, so many students from so many walks of life. I've made so many friends with diverse backgrounds that I never would have had the pleasure of meeting if it wasn't for university.

My course of course! I really love the teaching style and different approaches our lecturers use to simplify information. It also helps that we have a module timetable and reading list at the start of the semester which really helps with staying on top of the uni work.

Campus. We have an amazing campus which is right next to a beautiful park, personally love to go there on walks between my library study sessions.

Living in Leicester for the past couple of years has been really enjoyable. Town is only 15 mins away from campus, me and my friends tend to just walk there after our lectures are over. There are so many multicultural restaurants in Leicester as well which I've loved trying out. Leicester is top ten most affordable city, which it is really useful for student life.

Hope this helps, please feel free to ask away if you'd like to know more!

Have you already applied to University of Leicester or are you thinking about it?

Best wishes,

Thanks for your reply! I've already received an offer for psychology at Leicester and I'm going to the offer holder day on Saturday.

Would you say the the course modules are broad or do they focus more on certain areas of psychology? I'm thinking about specialising in forensic psychology, but would like to explore the different areas of psychology in case I find something I prefer.
