Edexcel Unit 1 "Physics On The Go" January 2013 Revision Help

I need some help with revision for the exam next month. I've already taken the exam twice and have failed both times. I'm wanting to get a D if possible, but I don't have much of interms of revision notes left over from the past year.

Can anyone share any good revision notes for this exam? I already have most of the past papers to help me revise, but all its doing is getting me worried as I can't do most of the questions. :frown:

It'd would be greatly appreciated if someone can help me out!

Do ALL past papers twice as practice makes perfect. Also it's definitly worth doing the questions on the following link:
questions:http://www.scribd.com/doc/47429133/Unit-1-loads-of-questions-Physics-edexcel

mark scheme:http://www.scribd.com/doc/47429132/Unit-1-Ans-loads-of-questions-Physics-edexcel

as practice makes perfect!

Make sure you UNDERSTAND the stuff. I do not create much notes for physics and just focus purely on the practice as it's quite mathematical.

If you need help on questions, just use TSR.
Good luck and do as much questions as you can-the more, the better!

it's very helpful for understanding the stuff in unit 1

I tol you. I used it and as a result unit 1 physics became a lot more interesting, making me find it much easier!

I will do the unit 1 exam all the way in June 2013. In past papers I'm getting As, but I still have not finished all papers 2 times times and still need to do some. I know there are loads of questions:work:, but after you do all of them, I'm sure you'd have improved a lotin physics. You may even now love unit 1 like me :smile:

Fine. Do ALL past papers and make sure you know how to word explanations for marks e.g. they commonly say "explain what is meant by laminar and turbulant flow". Here you got to remember the mark scheme answers - for laminar, say mixing of layers and flow is in streamlines, for turbulant, you say eddies containned and mixing of layers etc.

How's your revision going.
There wasn't any thread for this exam so I went ahead and made it myself. I need some advice because I've practically went through every single past paper that is available exactly for this examination. I've done these so far within the last month:

- Jan 2009
- June 2009
- Jan 2010
- June 2010
- Jan 2011
- June 2011
- Jan 2012
- June 2012

I know the majority of the question by heart and how to answer most of them. This isn't a real challenge for me and I'm worrying about what grade I'm working on right now. The older papers from 2008 and backwards don't help alot because they only have mechanics in them.

Is there anyway I can test myself with new questions and get a grade? I've only got about a week and half left and I'm certain I'm a between 60-70% right now which isn't good for me.

Im actually going to fail this exam lol:frown:
Hey

I'm doing this exam. I find it reaaaaally difficult to score marks too and have ended up getting around 50-60% of the marks.
The good news is that on most past papers, ~59/80 has been the grade boundary for an A - so actually, getting 60-70% of the marks is really good and you'll probably end up securing yourself the top grade

I've no advice other than to keep doing past papers and finding out which questions you're not very good at yet (for me, it's projectile motion, yuck) and repeating them until you get all the marks.

Good luck
