lol, our CGP doesnt have all these fancy words.... do i need to learn them?

Do you mean Homologous series?

It is a family of compounds with the same functional group!

Define Eutrophication

yh sorry that's what i meant, eutrophication is when the oxygen levels decrease so much in the oceans that it indangers aquatic life
Explain what is meant by electromagnet induction and how does it occur?

Electromagnetic induction is when a potential difference is made across a conductor who's magnetic field is constantly being changed:biggrin:

Describe how a hydraulic system works

I think you do :frown:

Oh hate this bit, but anyways its basically that the force that is applied at one point is transmitted to another point using an incompressible fluid.

yeah you will need to know them...

You could have talked about how the first point would have a small surface area, and the next one would have a larger one (increasing force). That is how they work anyway
explain how a transformer works ...

Getting very worried here guys, most of these words I am positive have not been covered in our science lessons!!

what book/how are you using to revise

explain how a transformer works ...

An alternating current is passed through the primary coil, here the current keeps changing, and so does the magnetic field. The field is felt by the secondary coil which then goes through electromagnetic induction and a alternating voltage is produced:smile:

Wow, physics is so boooring:frown:

A light beam travels from air to water.
Angle of incidence is 34
Refractive index is 1.44
Work out angle of refraction to the nearest degree

put down working!

Don't worry! Was it that one word? "Eutrophication"?
Have you heard of MyGCSEScience on YouTube, works wonders!

sin r = sin i/n (refractive index)

sin(34)/1.44

= 0.3883284052

angle of refraction =0.39'
how does the focal length affect the power of the lens.

You forgot to do Inverse Sin:eek:

oh god damn it
the answer is 22.9544994
lol i thought i missed something out
Has anyone finished their unit 3 revision?
