Postgraduate Study: Sociology vs Anthropology at LSE

Hi,

I was curious if anyone knows the different emphasis' in the anthropology and sociology taught masters courses at LSE?

I can't tell from the course descriptions. The lines between Anthropology and Sociology have become so blurred in the last few decades, so I'm unsure whether to apply traditional assumptions of the two areas of study i.e. that the anthropology courses will study non-western, ancient cultures/issues predominately and that sociology courses will study western, contemporary cultures/issues predominantly.

The Anthropology courses I have been looking at are Msc Social Anthropology and Msc Religion in Contemporary Culture. And the Sociology courses I have been looking at are Msc Sociology and Msc Culture and Society.

Any help or clarification would be great.

Thanks,
Emma
