Couldn't agree more
Is anyone else just learning energy and water?I was considering learning tech fix too, but I haven't been taught it in class so I feel like it is going to be too much. I was just concerned if one of the questions is going to be difficult, does anyone have any predictions? Andddd, does anyone think the development gap theories or indicator question will come up this year? Thanks

Predictions are useless for unit 3. Honestly is. They could throw you any curveball.

And I too was doing just 2 topics. Bridging and Techno fix.
Then I realised I need a third one which is Energy. As I may not like one of the questions they throw out, so it's good to have a backup, plus I don't think the content is too big anyway, so 3 for me

I was doing Energy and Water anyway, started tech fix but its too long for me to learn as I havent covered it before. I would learn development gap, but I didn't want to have to go through the theories. I have 9 exams and I didn't really want to be learning new content now so I don't really know what to do...

If you can't learn a third, thoroughly increase your knowledge on Energy and Water even if a bad question comes up, you should be able to tackle it if you know your stuff. Bridging is acc quite good tbh, it has less content, theories are straight forward - takes 1 day to learn, positives and negatives etc etc.

Thank you! I think I'll just learn them in a lot of detail, and then briefly do tech fix, just in case!

THIS IS ME!!!!!!! OMG. I also just can't bring myself to do tech fix so I'm gonna risk it and just learn thoroughly energy and water and I know in the real exam I'd do those two regardless! Let's hope 'players' don't come up I freaking hate players!

anybody have any resources for either exam??

especially case studies!! I'm thinking on focussing on energy, water and superpowers as a backup!
I still don't know what topics to focus on :frown: I know I don't want to look at Tech Fix much and I wanna definitely do Energy and Water conflicts (tech fix will be mentioned as synoptic link in these two) but I'm torn between superpowers and BDG.. I like superpowers but find BDG easier but a lot more boring :/ aahhh brain overload here :frown:

Yep! They are basically the same just replace the word energy in energy security for water haha although I do get confused with the case studies  but both together are pretty good to revise for.

These are my water notes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FICGa8PUIAU0xRHxlurlGeNaKR9DDBc7P5Cqm_C8ccE/edit?usp=sharing
if there's anything that looks wrong just let me know and I'll recheck them:smile: I'll try and get my other notes finished this weekend so I'll post them later this week.
The booklet is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RJP7RrJ_I45Uj52xpodpC3nsUqsQaYMTczEym314vjI/edit?usp=sharing
I've filled in my own version here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oYy8CKJgBdcwdolb-m6QxFbLYrKYakTpC1nkQliQ19E/edit?usp=sharing
I also have a similar booklet for the second synoptic question but I haven't filled that in yet, i'll also post that later this week:smile:

these really helpful thank you!
Do you have any notes on the other topics and synoptic questions?

If you meant the actual Edexcel pre-release booklet it's here: https://geographyalevelslc.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/biodiversity-under-threat-in-the-arctic.pdf
If you either do this booklet: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RJP7RrJ_I45Uj52xpodpC3nsUqsQaYMTczEym314vjI/edit?usp=sharing
Or you can use the booklet that I've filled in: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oYy8CKJgBdcwdolb-m6QxFbLYrKYakTpC1nkQliQ19E/edit?usp=sharing
It will help you to answer the first question on the synoptic side, which will probably be;
Explain the global and local importance of the Arctic
Explain the varying biodiversity of the Arctic
Explain the unique biodiversity of the Arctic ect.
It will most likely be to explain why this ecosystem is of value and give outside knowledge of this (ie things not in the resource, which I have done in my booklet).
Hopefully this helps! I'm aiming to get the second questions work completed this weekend so I'll add that to this thread later on

Many thanks for this. It really helps.

EVERYONE I HAVE CREATED A SEPARATE THREAD REGARDING UNIT 3... Reason being so is firstly its neat. The other reason is because not everyone is sitting UNIT 4 and in fact some are sitting UNIT 3 only (Just like me)
