What are you actually asking and at what level? Do you want a description only or do you need a deeper quantum mechanics level of understanding with a mathematical descriptions as well?

is it:

a) how a laser produces coherent light?

b) how a laser produces enough light to cut through a solid material?

c) how a beam of light can cut through a solid material?
