Software Engineering (Honours)

Hi,

I'm a newbie to these forums but I have a question.

I'm currently trying to generate UCAS points to get into Uni to study Software Engineering. After I left secondary school I looked at the requirements on several websites including UniversityFinder and was told the relevant course to study.

I started studying the BTEC Extended Diploma in IT which is a two year course mid-2013 at my local college, but a few months after had to leave due to medical issues. I was getting grades including Merits and Distinctions up to that point (around December/January) but I left without any certificates.

Once I felt in a better condition, I decided to attempt the course again (Starting last September). Up to around January/February time this year I was mainly getting passes and now I'm back to getting Merits/Distinctions in my coursework. On top of this, since it's a Welsh college, there's a Welsh Baccalaureate included in the course that runs alongside worth 120 UCAS points after the two years as it's worth an A level at A grade.

The University I'm looking at studying at after College would be Sheffield Hallam - http://www.shu.ac.uk/prospectus/course/690/

My questions are - What overall grade up till June next year would I have to get on the course to be in with a chance of getting accepted, and would the Welsh Bacc be accepted in an English uni?

I would suggest you to contact them directly, some of us might be helpful but nothing worse than getting your hopes up and being let down.

You'll need DDM (320 points). They may allow you in with DMM though. If however they accept Welsh baccalaureate (though I doubt this because no English institutions I have come across do) you could get away with MMM and a pass in welsh baccalaureate .
