Ill give you an un-official tour if you want, be sure to bring your drinking money thou
There will probably be some tours run my the student reps that usually go along the lines of "This is the library, this is the gym , this is a bar".
Ill show you were people get attacked with the blood stains on the floor, were to score some crack, were to get a hooker(ironically near the college), the dirty strip club, were not to go unless your 'ard and fearless, who has the best deals on beer, were all the gigs are and of course were to go when your drunk and hungry .
Dont be fooled into university run bar crawls, they get paid to run them and they usuaully follow the 'ritzy' trail (which might change this year witht he engine shed being in full swing) the library bar, shots, the falcoln, chicago rock, ritzy(banging mah homey ,innit ).
An awefull excuse for good food , walk down the highstreet at get the real thing (KFC)
Well it depends on were you are and were your going but its either poppins, nibbles (burger+bacon+cheese and chips only £2.50 ), the chinky down the highstreet with the orange window, the 2 kebab houses next to it , subway (for mid pub crawl food , closes at 12 ) or there thats big place near ritzy which is always filled with idiots who take ages to order. There is also a chinky hidden down an alley way opposite HMV who are hit and miss (they were a really good late night kebab house) but generally OK.
Or for your day time antics its either the big wok, quayside, walkabout or one of the weatherspoons for 2 meals for a £5
The big wok is a definate must for an all day bender before it turns dark, £5 for all you can eat. Miss the laughing buddah thou, its the same price but the food wasn't as good when I went.
Of course if your after a breakfast hit the atrium (best for value in my books for breakfast) £1.80 for 5 'items' (bacon, fried eggs, toast, beans, scramble eggs etc) so you buy 2 and whack it on one plate for £3.60 (still £2-3 cheaper than the librarybar/the shed/the cafe near the waterside who also do a cracking breakfast ).
Of course you cauld save money and actually cook food but it requires effort, forward planning , motivation, time and skill
apparnetly they wont give unconditionals if you're continuing a course, so it's conditional - they just want me to get at least an E in a level law! i've worked out my UMS marks and i need to get a grand total of 11 marks over the next three exams to get in, so i think it's pretty much a dead cert that i'm in haha! =]
