I'm thinking of applying to Edinburgh next year, I was wondering if Edinburgh is a safe place? As in crime and stuff. Also is it okay as in racism? I'm Indian and I don't really want to experiencing any trouble whilst I'm studying.

I have not personally experienced anything bad whilst at Edinburgh, the worst I've had is being called a w*nker once for walking too slow. The university, and the areas around the university are very diverse though, and I couldn't see anyone from any background having any major problems here.
