Hotels/B&Bs near the uni?

Does anyone know of any hotels or B&Bs close to the university? Preferably affordable? I need somewhere for the first week but I can't find anywhere close by and the Cedars on campus is fully booked. Any help will be much appreciated
"afordable" but quite grim is the Elmhurst Hotel, near the early Gate entrance.
(Typography/fine art/met and psych depts)

generally loads of white vans parked up.

Thanks domonict, I just googled it, slightly. concerned that they only have stock images of hotel rooms on their websites, none of their actual rooms haha.

Do you know of any others at all even if they're slightly more?
I have never stayed, but the Best Western ~Moat house seems quite good.
Nothing is cheap. - that's a bus/car ride away but reasonably near.

also Hillingdon Prince

the Elmhurst seems one step up from camping

There is the Holiday Inn which is in Whitley and others around Reading which are on accessible bus routes. If that helps but the ones which are closer to the university will probs now be booked up with first years who couldn't get halls places.

I've just checked, it's fully booked 😩. At this point everything is fully booked or is ridiculously priced. Thanks anyway!

Look on airbnb

Or try the Crowne Plaza
Reading is putting 70 freshens in hotel rooms due to lack of hall space.
This is normal, as not everybody turns up.

But it does limit the cheaper end.

Reading is quite expensive as a lot of business's book rooms
