Is IB a good idea if you know what you want to do at Uni?

I'm in year 11 right now and I know that I want to do a physics/physics related degree at uni but I also really like the idea of IB. Is It good to do something like general like the IB or specialise with A level.
If I took IB I would study
HL:
Maths
Chemistry
Physics
and SL:
Italian (Ab initio)
History of art
I don't remember what its actually called but performance and literature?
I really wanted to take History of art at A level but I didn't want to take 5 options so I didn't and I really think that CAS is a good idea (If I do IB, I know I'll regret saying this - so if you're going to comment on my opinion of IB, please don't)
Anyways....
Thanks guys,

Do you have anywhere to study IB? You'd either need to go to a private school or self study, so it's not something that you really just decide to do.

But I'm unsure how we can comment on whether IB is a good idea without commenting on your opinion of IB - if anyone says it's good it's backing you up, or if it's bad that disagreeing.

There's a school I've applied for that does both A level and IB.
I think IB is a really good idea and I love the program - just I've heard some people say that if you know what you want to take a Uni, it's best to do A levels because you focus purely on the 3-5 subjects you take rather than the 6 subjects and that IB is a lot of hard work because of CAS and the EE and stuff.....
