Senior Medical Elective HELP!

Hi, I am a current 4th medical student in Scotland i have been looking into organising my senior elective for next summer. I am really interested in emergency/trauma medicine and my elective window is from mid July- August for 4 weeks. I would like a hands on elective (not just observational) in a major trauma centre ideally but also in a safe part of the world that as plenty to see and do. I have been primarily looking at the USA & Australia (esp. melbourne) but i am open to any good suggestions. I have been emailing anyone and everyone I have came across online in order to advise me on this but so far I am not having much luck to work in this speciality in particular. Therefore I was just wondering if anyone had any advice, had been anywhere for something similar in the past and had any good contact details for examples. Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.
