Should tuition be free at RG universities? RG unis are generally regarded as better than most none RG unis and have better job prospects thus a better return on investment by the taxpayer.

By making them free, it would be an incentive for candidates to do better in their A levels/Btecs.

Unis are a business and students get loans to help pay towards the cost of their education. It's a fairly fair system at the moment, and lots of these uis will offer a reduced tuition fee for those from less well off backgrounds.

If you make the best education free, it's going to end up with everyone applying to RG unis swamping the system!

The RG is a self selecting club of Vice Chancellors - that's hardly a good basis for deciding which universities deserve additional subsidies.
