There have been later goals (excluding extra time). Wasn't it in the UEFA CL that Sparta Prague scored in the third minute in stoppage time against Inter Milan? :confused:

i agree. we so should have had pierluigi Collina. he's a good ref, AND he's fair.

this ref was shit scared of getting lynched by the portugal home crowd if he didn't award nearly every decision their way.

i am completely with you there! and his covered-up earings added to it all! he was a fanatastic player though...just not very fit in my eyes. I would say the brazilian one is better looking if I can remember what he looks like!!

but it wasn't his fault!! the ground was relly messed up and he was unlucky enough to be the first to take a shot at the penalty. Everyone else learnt from what he did, as you saw they all did that bit of gardening arond the place. He had no reason to miss the one with France though.
That ref was the out of order one.

The ground was messed up, anyway he wasn't the only one to miss a penalty. I don't get why the goalie never gets blamed for penalties going in. I mean he should have saved the dam penaltys.

. I just think that David James has got off too easy for this. I mean he did let in a lot of penalties and he let in the too goals at the end of the france match and nobody seems to think he can do anything wronge.

I mean it wasn't just his fault in either match but surely he is partly responsible for both defeats. Everyone I have spoken to says that it is up to the striker to score the goal not the goalie to save it but surely then there is no point of having a goalie at all. :mad:

I wish that people would stop blaming beckham where he is no more to blame than James or Vassel.

It was heskey...... and im sorry but you can't say that vassell is to blame. Beckham, the so called captain, the so called dead ball specialist failed to convert his penalty. Atleast vassells was on target..... And Beckham is more to blame than vassell because of the fact that he's played shit all tournament and if he'd made more of an effort then maybe the result would have been different, Vassell never stopped working last night so he is NOT to blame. I used to like Beckham but his performance in this tournament is starting to make me agree with others that he is over rated.
However, the match shouldn't have even gone to penalties if there was a decent ref in charge. So much for Swiss neutrality,it was an obvious fix to let the hosts progress...i wonder how much money meier got? thats all the swiss care about I suppose... oh and cuckoo clocks
I think last night is an excellent argument for human cloning...if 20 collinas were cloned then this would never happen again! :smile:
