# Edexcel FP1 Thread - 20th May, 2016 watch

1. As far as FP1 papers go that was fairly difficult. Questions 5a, and the first proof had me stumped but the others were fine. If anyone has model answers to those it'd be nice to see.
2. (Original post by NotNotBatman)
That was the argument. 3SF
It said "answers to 3 significant figures".
3. (Original post by ICantFindMyName)
you only have to do (y1 + y2) / 2 and (x1 + x2) / 2

replicated question and pretty sure answer is 15 sqrt(2) / 2
Do you remember what was the coordinates of A
4. (Original post by ICantFindMyName)

It isn't. Definitely 15sqrt(2) /4
p is sqrt(2) so -5/sqrt(2) +10 sqrt(2) /2

I got that too.

(5p+5p-5/p) should be 15sqrt(2)/4 ?
7. **** it really is 15sqrt(2)/4
thank god I left it as 15/ 2sqrt(2) LOL
8. (Original post by ombtom)
It said "answers to 3 significant figures".
Really? I'm sure it said " Find the modulus... and the argument giving your answer to 3 significant figures".
9. YAY. Thank you. Lol love the stuff about fractions
10. Arsey come on
11. [QUOTE=ICantFindMyName;64984891]**** it really is 15sqrt(2)/4

Lol you gave me a little heartache
12. (Original post by ombtom)
It said "answers to 3 significant figures".
Well that's another mark lost for me. Too used to FP2 letting you leave everything as a surd. At this rate, I'll end up with less than 90.

Really? I'm sure it said " Find the modulus... and the argument giving your answer to 3 significant figures".
I don't understand why they would ask for 3sf when there is a perfectly good surd as a final answer lol.

If you read closely, by the way they spaced comma's, they were implying that just the argument needed to be 3sf. The modulus I believe was root5, anyone agree? :/

Nope, it definitely said answers (plural).

Not sure, I wrote both just to be safe

Yeah, that's what I thought. I had to read it over twice to make sure.

Someone please make a Hitler reacts video
Yesss anyone?

Yesss anyone?
20. If I didn't get a correct. Would I get any other marks for the other part?
