I want to study History and have recently come across this university. I wanted to know whether the history department is any good and also how lenient they are with grades? What are the chances of me getting into history which is an ABB course with BBB? Thank you!

    Hi sandy037

Glad that you are thinking of studying History at Loughborough!
Have a look at these links for more info on the department and history specifically:

    http://www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/phir/

    http://www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/phir/about/

    http://www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/p...duate/history/

How lenient they are is a difficult question to be honest. If you are predicted BBB and submit an exceptional personal statement, it's sometimes possible to get an offer.
If you were offered ABB and got BBB, there is a chance you'd still get in - it all depends on how other people have done. If everyone has matched or exceeded there offers, your chances are a bit slimmer, but with BBB you'd be classed as a "near miss" and this would be looked at on a case by case basis.
So it's not impossible at all - however the only sure way to get in is to meet or exceed your offer.

Hope this makes sense, if you need any more info, let us know.

Hello, not OP but I wondered if you could tell me if history is always in the Herbert Manzoni building? I visited last year but I don't remember if it was or not. Thank you

    Hi korrin

They've been in Herbert Manzoni for 2 or 3 years now and there are no plans for them to move in the immediate future, so looks like they'll still be there in September 2017.

    Hope that helps
    Vicky
