Can completing a Driver Awareness course increase your insurance premium? Do you have to declare it, if you completed one, to insurance providers when trying to renew your car insurance?

Yes, it can - a lot of insurance providers ask have you been on any driver awareness courses in the last 3/5 years. Not all insurers will ask, but if asked, you are required to not lie about it (you have still broken the road traffic act, so they have a right to ask). If asked, yes, it will increase your premium.
Check the T&Cs of your insurance, as you might be required to notify your insurance company straight away (or within n days of going on the course) if you go on a driver awareness course. If it says this in the T&Cs, failing to do so will result in your insurance being invalid.
