hey, btw guys. My 3 topics are relationship, forensics and schizophrenia,
student forum isn't being responsive right now to allow me to post my documents.
Here is my forensic notes if anyone need some quick notes taken from the book.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/tlcaes9odourdlg/Forensic.docx?dl=0

I will try to update it with 16 marker essay for each topic, if i get some time.
Hi all.

I have the spec papers that are locked from students (spec 3) for all papers AS and A2. I also have the 2016 real exam (AS)

To those who won't be doing a mock or want to re-do it and don't have access to it, drop me your email and I can send it.

(No cheaters for mocks please- it is not worthwhile.)

I'm going to stick with 3 evaluation points because 4-6 is too much to remember.

What l don't get is how can 3 evaluation points get you 10 marks (like really? you need more than that surely)?

3 evaluations are enough for full marks if they are well developed and elaborated

I'm panicking, my school taught 4 now only teach 3 because they say that you only have time for 3 ://// I'm predicted an A* and I'm worried this is going to ruin my grades

My school have now told us to noot use peel and we have to use 2 PEEAEEL paragraphs and the one PEEL on issues and debates for an evaluative point
hi guys what are your predictions for papers?
do you yhink theyll make it difficult or easier as we are the first year?

That's surprising we have been taught 5 evaluation points for each and we do it in a different form, we were told we need 3 evaluation point for AS which we did last year and now need 5 for A2
if i set up a skype chat would anyone be interested in revision sessions?
Well my teacher has given us a checklist of things to include in a 16 marker essay if anyone is interested I can post it?
I was wondering how you guys would revise for psychology because I feel like I know the topics but when it comes to revision reading from a book doesnt seem to feel like the information is sinking in and I really want to get a good grade for university. Any tips or pointers would be good regardless of how simple or complex they may be.

Yeah we get told to add as much evaluation as possible but in only 2 paragraphs structured as PEEAEEL which stands for Point Explain Example/Evidence Alternative point/Criticism Explain Example/Evidence Link back

I'm really stressing about these exams. My teachers are completely useless! We have done so many mocks in class and essay questions and they just do not mark them and then when we do a proper mock every single person who takes psychology (3 CLASSES WORTH OF STUDENTS) failed and apart from 2! Like Everyone got Us and then 2 people got Es and they have not told us at all how everyone went wrong! Instead they just punish us by taking ALL of our free time at school away so we cannot revise for any other subjects. Then they keep giving us loads and loads of mock exams and essays but never give them back so I do not understand how I can improve my grade at all! The exams are just over a month away and I am worried sick that I will not get into uni! I study all the time and my revision works for every other subjects and I've tried different techniques but nothing is improving my grade. But I do not understand how 50 odd students can all fail if it's just revision techniques. Someone please help

During my mocks l have been getting D's, E's and 1 FREAKING U! Because we keep wasting time to write 16 markers as well as mocks etc! I know they help but at the end of the day the amount of work there is doesn't compare...

Right now l'm literally revise 1 WHOLE TOPIC IN 1 DAY! THATS HOW MUCH I WANT TO ******** PASS PSYCHOLOGy WITH AN A/B AN A* WOULD BE SO SURREAL BUT YEAH.

What l recommend is revise now while ticking off bits you have revised and revise for 4 hrs (what 'lve been doing whilst taking breaks and l've managed to finish off a half of the topics work).

To top it off, my teacher wants us to revise PAPER 3 topics and do an end mock...which is good but l wanted to start with paper 1...but then if you think about it ...after we sit the paper 1 mock soon our exam is in a few weeks and all the information can be retained - which is good.

Goodluck though!
Anyone got or can recommend any good notes for Biological Explanations of explaining and treating OCD? Like genetic and neural explanations and drug therapy stuff?

I was ill for most of that period of school and my teachers' notes are alright but not great. I am going to speak to him when we go back on Tuesday, but for now so I can carry on revising does anyone have any notes they wouldn't mind sharing?

Thank you in advance! If there is anything I can do in return just let me know!
Also what are we expecting grade boundaries to be for a new spec? Lower than usual? I'm not sure

What's everyone's revision strategy?
Like, how often a week and what's your typical revision day/session like?

I'm making essay plans for every topic topic and then practicing writing the essays and answering questions from my online textbook. My theory is that if you know how to write the whole essay, you'll be able to answer the smaller questions too (e.g. "Explain two advantages of X).
For research methods, I'm making flashcards and hoping for the best
Well its more of a check list than anything but still useful in structuring the 16 mark essay

> Outline the theory/theories
- Include the research if there is any including:
- A brief outline of the method
- How the sample was obtained - volunteer sample, opportunity sample, etc // evaluation point whether sample is representative of the population and could be generalised - correct me if im wrong but ecological validity?
- Which group design was used. - Independent groups design, match-paired groups design or repeated groups design
- Collection of the results - questionnaire, interviews, etc.
-
> Include specialist terminology.
> Include at least 5 pieces of research either supporting or going against (wrong word to use - maybe offering another theory which suits the individual or group of people or the explanation of something).
> Refer to at least 3+ IDAS -
- Determinism vs. free will,
- Approaches,
- Nature/Nurture,
- Culture bias,
- Historical bias,
- Gender bias,
- Reductionism,
- Psychology a science,
- Animal research,
- Individual differences
> Include both supportive and contradictory evidence - as I was saying for the 5 pieces of research.
> Include methodological evaluation - validity, reliability, ethics, cause and effect.
> Suggested improvement to the approach or theory/theories.

PEEL evaluation paragraph
-- Point of the evaluation strength or limitation.

-- Evidence of the strength of limitation - this is where you can include the 5 pieces of research if not mentioned in the outline.

-- Evaluation of the research - is it causation and effect, is there factors in the research needed to be considered ie looking at research methods whether sample was volunteer - social desirability bias, or obtaining results/data through questionnaires - interviews allow for individual to elaborate on answer although still social desirability bias still could happen or investigator effect.

-- Link back to the question or another approach, theory or theories which could explain it much better whether it is more applicable to real life experiences.

I think that is everything!
