Things I should include in a personal statement?

Hi,
I'm currently studying BSc Nursing, however after having been on two placements and not being given that much academic work to do I have realised I don't want to to do this long term.
I really want to study philosophy & sociology at Uni of Sussex. I appreciate I'm applying late, so I really need to make my personal statement wow the admissions team.
Any ideas of books I can read or things that might make me a good candidate?
Hi!
I'd advice to read basic personal statement advice and than take a look at modules on your course and figure out what interests you most there. After that you can find appropriate literature. Also, look at people who are teaching the modules. They usually publish books to get attention to their research and they may be delighted to see your curiousness.
Good luck with a statement! Hope, you will impress them:smile:
