Don't choose a university as your insurance just because you think it will be easier to get into. At the end of the day, it's better to wait / go through clearing to get to a university you do want, than get in debt at a university you don't really enjoy. You could always try emailing the Admissions department at Warwick and asking them about whether they would allow you in if you potentially got those results.
I can't speak for Coventry because I've never been, but I am Scottish. The nightlife in Edinburgh is really good, and you could always take the train through to Glasgow. Some of the places in Edinburgh are pretty pricey, but you should be able to find decent places to go for relatively cheap on student nights. There's a club in Glasgow that does 89p Vodka / Gin singles & 99p Spiced rum singles. In terms of attractions, there is a lot to do in Scotland. Here are some Tourism guides that you may find useful;

Explore their student union website, and see how active the societies are and what events they have on. It might be worth messaging some societies at each university, they will be able to properly tell you about what it's like being a student there, what the nightlife is like, and what the course is like.
If you can contact the departments directly, then don't be afraid to message them with questions. If you can't, then send an email with your questions to the Admissions department who'll forward it on to the appropriate person.
Have you looked at The Complete University Guides for each University?;
Edinburgh -

https://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/warwick/Look to see if there is anything unique to either university that you're interested in. Compare the modules on offer at each university, and check what sort of places you could get placements. I found watching videos of the universities I was considering really helped me. Watch general videos about the university, including ones specifically about your course. Also, watch videos of other courses in your department. This can really help you see what the staff and facilities are like. Look to see if any students have up any videos about their experiences at either university as well.
