Furman v Georgia ruling? AQA Gov4A Supreme Court

The ruling that I have for Furman V Georgia is that the method used for the death penalty was unconstitutional. I decided to look it up to see what method it referred to (I assumed electric chair) but google results suggested that it was more a case of "should the death penalty be used in this particular case?"

What ruling do you have?
What I've got is that the court decided that the death penalty, as then imposed, was a "cruel and unusual punishment" and thereby violated the 8th Amendment and so led to the more widespread use of lethal injection, but not entirely sure if that's right!
That's pretty much what I have so I'll go with that. Thanks
