Hey guys, I’m a little confused. I want to become a neurologist; working in a medical environment, what are the steps I need to take into account and will help me from 6Form and onwards?? Thankyou.

A neurologist is a medical doctor who has specialised in neurology, so you will need to go to medical school, complete the foundation programme, enter core medical training, and then neurology specialty training.
You have to be interested in being a doctor in general first and foremost though. Which involves studying and working in areas which have very little direct relevance to neurology e.g. obstetrics, gynaecology, cardiology, general surgery, GP etc. Some work experience would be very useful in helping you figure out if medicine is generally your cup of tea or not.
A BSc in neuroscience, biochemistry, etc will not make you a neurologist - the only route in is via a medical degree.
Lots more info here on grades, work experience etc:
I know people who wanted to do medicine, but ending up doing bio-medicine and then specialising in neurology, so this could be an option.
You cannot specialise in neurology without doing a medical degree first. Ever. A neurologist is a doctor first and foremost and that means going to medical school and studying medicine. Not biomedical sciences or neuroscience or neuropsychology or anything else. Just medicine.
Thankyou so much; all the advice given was extremely helpful, and hearing from a Neurologist in training is beneficial! Do you know what subjects that are very helpful to choose in your 6Form/College years? Im hoping to choose 3-4 subjects, if that helps.

You need to study medicine to become a medical neurologist. Neuroscience is a very big area with a hell of a lot of researching happening.
@ecolier I was planning to do; Biology, Physics and Psychology, but after hearing your choices would it be better to rethink choosing chemistry instead of physics?
