Out of interest, if I took German gcse, would I know enough of the language to write and speak it fluently or would I have to continue with German A level to write and speak German fluently?

My friend. Not taking it for a level or taking it for a level It's up to you. personally I'm not going to as I know enough to be able to continue teaching myself. I'm also spending my gap-year in and out of german-speaking countries so yeah! Just follow your instincts :wink:
