Engineering Cambridge vs Oxford

How does an engineering degree differ between Cambridge and Oxford? (eg teaching style, theoretical/practical ratio, graduate prospects, etc)

They are more similar than different on those 3 criteria. In particular, both have regular small group tutorial/supervisions.

Ah right, I was also wondering if one of the degrees was more mathematical/theoretical (which I would prefer) than the other?

Check the detailed specifications but essentially no.

A key difference is the Engineering Dept is much bigger at Cambridge, this also means it has more pathways and choice of modules:

Cambridge has 10 main pathways (Aero, Bio, Civil, EEE, Electrical & Info, Energy, Info & Computer, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical) plus the options of ChemEng or Manufacturing Engineering. And nearly 100 options in Year 4.

Oxford has 4 main pathways (Civil & Structural, Electrical & Info, Mechanical, Measurement & Control) plus the options of ChemEng or "Entrepreneurship". And about 25 module options in Y4.

This may sound like a stupid question, but where would I be able to find detailed module information for the engineering courses at Oxford and Cambridge. Wherever I've looked so far only has general information such as topic names, but I would like to know the in-depth content (such as a syllabus listing all the little sub-topics covered) so I can see where the differences lie between the courses offered by both unis.

Yeah thanks for the help, I saw that one before, but can't seem to find an equivalent for Oxford.

By the way, I've merged your threads as they are basically the same question
