4000 assignments per module?

I had 8 formal assignments (essays, lab reports) last semester, plus tasks for seminars/tutorial type things and 8 hours worth of Experimental participation.
It was about the same for the previous semester aswell.

In January I had 4 exams, and in May I have another 3.

In my first term, I did 6 essays (1 of 1500 words, 5 of 2000 words), and then played the same game again. This term I have 6 2-hour exams.
I had 12 pieces of coursework last year (essays and presentations) and I have had about the same this semester, plus 2 exams! (in my 2nd year).

Ive got a 3000word placement essay to write over the course of my third year whilst out in industry.
There isn't a consistent pattern across all of our modules, but more or less 20 credits = 5000/6000 words or 3000 + an exam, or a presentation + 4000 words.

My boyfriend's philosophy course is the same across all modules- 30% essay, 70% exam. All his modules were 10 credits for the first two years so that was twelve of each. Now it's six of each but the essays are 3000 instead of 1500 each, and the exam is 2 hours instead of one.

I'm in my second year and I've got one module with 5000 words, one module with 5000 words and a presentation and the third module 2500 words and a 2hr exam. Not minding the writing so much but dreading the exam.
It varies between modules...Most have been an unassessed essay (2000 words), assessed essay (2000 words) and a two hour exam. Then one was 2x 3000 word essays and the other is 100% 3 hour exam (plus a 1500 word unassessed essay).

Next year seems to be pretty exclusively a 2000 word essay worth 30%, a presentation worth 10% and a two hour exam worth 60% for each module (and you take 6).
