Collective responsibility
For importance:
- Holds the executive to account by ministers resigning if their power gets too much
- Allows ministers to use their conscience when making decisions
- Allows ministers to do what is best for their constituencies

Against importance:
- Many ministers do not actually get removed. They either stay in their position or just take up another departmental role like Amber Rudd
- With Brexit and the many dividing opinions it is no longer seen as important because of the amount of abstentions and voting against the deal that has already happened without consequence
- Depends on PMs majority. If they have a strong majority collective responsibility is likely to be more effective but with a limited/no majority it does not help
