We were told at the open day that they don't look at the AS results when scoring applicants for deciding who to invite for interviews. We were also told they don't look at predictive grades at that stage - just the number of A*s at GCSE level and (for medicine) the results of the BMAT exam

So few candidates take AS now that we doubt it will affect your prospects at all. Even when AS exams were taken nationally, very little weight was placed on them.
