there’s an interview tomorrow at my 6th form for a leadership position within school

if they were to ask what challenges i have faced and overcame, what are they particularly looking for?

also i’m quite scared since the other people that have applied have been head girls in the past and i’ve only been a deputy

Think about things you have done and try to tie them into the responsibilities you would have as a Student Leader, to show your suitability for the position. Also think about what you might like to change for students, if given the opportunity. They don't have to be things in school, you could use examples from jobs or volunteering, any uniformed organisations like guides or cadets.

For example, have you got a policy introduced or changed to make things more inclusive, more accessible, reduce bullying?
