I'm a current University of Hertfordshire student - in my final year. The standard of facilities is pretty high - the University of Hertfordshire has been ranked a top 10 University for facilities spending for the last two years, in terms of money invested per student. This illustrates the University's commitment to facilities investment. A new Science block was opened in 2016, a newly built enterprise hub is due to be completed in early 2020 and there are already plans for work to begin on another new building in 2020/21. Below is a photo from a couple of months ago, showing the progress of our enterprise hub.

In terms of uni life - it's been great. I have spent most of my time at uni living in halls which has been brilliant. There is a lot to do on the campus - we have a pub, gym, swimming pool, restaurant, cafes, shop, nightclub, bank, doctors, pharmacy, 24/7 library and outdoor pitches all on campus. Additionally we are situated a 25 minute train journey from central London which makes the city easily accessible. We also have a vast range of societies - there really is something for everyone!

Thanks for all the help! I have applied for the Sports & Exercise Bcs, in which I received an unconditional offer and therefore highly considering it. I am very interested in applying for a sports scholarship as I am a international senior netball player for my country. Although I am aware there is only 1 sports scholarship on offer, but worth the try.

Yes it's certainly worth a try in applying for that scholarship! Playing for your country will certainly help to set you apart from the crowd when the applications are reviewed.

The Sports & Exercise course makes use of our modern labs to investigate performance, strength and conditioning. The course has a great range of opportunities allowing you to pick up other qualifications along the way, such as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Level 2 Fitness Instructor, Level 3 Personal Trainer and recognised ACSM fitness training qualifications. There are also opportunities for work experience and research involvement.

The course has a great range of guest lecturers from the likes of GSK and HSV. Additionally, there is a degree of flexibility offered in this course allowing you to select various modules during 2nd and 3rd year.

In terms of student life, you may also be interested in joining our University netball team which is coached by Wasps Head Coach Mel Mansfield. Also, the Saracens Mavericks are a Netball Superleague team who are based on our campus. Although they are not a University team, they are sponsored by the University of Hertfordshire and use our facilities, so I'm sure there would be an opportunity to watch some Superleague Netball there too :smile:

I received an unconditional offer from Herts and was wondering if the offer would still apply if I placed it as my Insurance. Or does it only apply if its firmed??

Accommodation groups will appear on Facebook in the coming months, and the University will email you further joining information in August. In the meantime you can keep up to date by following the University of Hertfordshire and Herts SU through their social media channels.

Sorry for all the queries it just seems this is the most effective way to get information :smile:

I was wondering if the only accommodation on De Havilland Campus is the pictures that are shown of the Herts Uni website. If so do you know if 1st year students choose to live in private accommodation (if so where) or if they chose the single en suite rooms at De Havilland Campus. Also how long does it approximately take to walk from College Lane Campus to De Havilland :smile:
