I live in the US in the deep south and have never had a bad comment about my tshirt. The only time I had to "explain myself" was for my wife's Russian grandparents who didn't understand why I had a hammer and sickle. They don't speak English so my wife explained about the dual meaning of "party" but they found it pretty funny after that.
