PHD and Doctorates

What is the difference between Doctorates and PHDs? And which universities abroad have Doctorates available in Clinical Psychology?
Also, which countries degrees are recognised by the UK, so if you go abroad to do a degree as a Home UK student will that degree be recognised here in the UK?

Thank you
A PhD is a type of doctorate. It’s research-based.

There are also professional doctorates, like DClinPsy (clinical psychology) or DEdPsy (educational psychology). These also contain some research afaik, but will also qualify you for specific professions.
