Help and advice

I’ve recently joined the obs and gynaecology department as a HCA in the theatres, after 8.5 years supporting adults with learning disabilities, I’ve always been very confident regarding my communication skills however I’m having a lot of interaction and am required to comfort women who are about to have a c-section, I’m a 30 year old male and struggling with how to comfort them obviously I’ve never experienced pregnancy, birth or the terrifying position these amazing women are in? I’m required to keep them calm using small talk and reassurance but of course I don’t know what it feels like to have an epidural or the frightening feeling of knowing my belly is about to be cut open knowing all the dangers, I want to give them the best support I possibly can, any tips, dos and don’ts, what I can say to them, convo starters? Would be so helpful!
