Hi, does Kings accept GCSE English Language re-sits.. I have emailed them as well but have received no response in the last 4 months. I have a level 5 at the moment, but am predicted a level 7, after repeating it..

I have the required A-Level grades and everything else. Please let me know ASAP if anyone knows, as I intend to apply there

Thanks,
Subhan
Yes, but If i resit it I will get a grade 7, which is quite good. Hence, I am asking whether or not they accept gcse resits.. do you know? Thanks,

they’re probably real busy with 2021 entry students so I think it would be best to wait for your resit result and then email kcl or get your careers advisor etc to email in
Okay, thank you! That’s what I thought as well.. I’ll see if the admissions team at Kings applies, so I can provide evidence to back up our claims

Yeah, I agree.. I’ll update here if they do reply!
I'm not a grad applicant to KCL, but am a medical graduate who does a bit of tutoring of applicants as well. Your stats should certainly be good enough for an interview. The only thing I'd be concerned about normally would be the C at A Level (hopefully not in biology or chemistry, although less of a worry if biology due to your undergrad.) King's won't release much UCAT info (see here https://www.kcl.ac.uk/lsm/assets/applying-to-medicine-faqs.pdf), but from my own experience and their admissions stats your UCAT is fine. See here for an overview of UCAT scores - https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/584886/response/1394562/attach/html/3/419.19%20Annex%20A.xlsx.html

I'd concentrate on narrowing down schools that fit to your strengths (i.e. focus heavily on GCSEs). King's might be a good fit, Edinburgh too. There's a good amount of sites that show overviews of schools and the questions they ask (which normally give you some insight into the type of school that they are). Two examples:

https://www.themedicportal.com/application-guide/choosing-a-medical-school/schools/

Hope this helps!

Hi guys, Is there anyone who have gone through the
Does any one know how I can increase my chances of getting into KCL specifically for medicine ??
What kind of stats do applicants have ? I really want to get in
My stats(gap year student)
GCSE 999999886
Alevel-AA*A*(what I’m predicting I will get)-bio,chem,psych
UCAT-???? If I get average would this be okay ?
Work experience-no in person medical related because of COVID
What are my realistic chances of getting in??

hi,

I have an offer for both HYMS and Kings, however I can't decide which one to choose, I'd like a bit of advice?

Hey , this may seem like a random Qs but I was wondering what your stats were to get into kings med school. I want to apply for 2022 entry with:

Hopefully-AA*A*
999999886
Ucat-what would I need to get ?

I’m taking a gap year btw
Does anyone know what KCL scores if you don't have GCSE's? Do they just score your Grade 10 results for Canadians? Thanks! (If nobody knows, I'll email them- though I've sent a couple already haha)

Does it matter how many times you’ve retaken your A levels for kcl medicine?

There’s not much info about retaking at king’s college London website

So I’m an international student applying to King’s Medicine in 2022. I was just curious about how the interviews will be done this cycle. Will it be online or will it be in person?I’m concerned as an international student because travelling restrictions have been imposed because of COVID.

What is good enough UCAT score for KCL to really secure an interview ?

Ok thanks
I am aware that kings is a reasonably holistic admissions process, but that they heavily consider GCSEs against UCAT, and interview. Obviously I cannot predict my UCAT or interview performance and I won't try to. But KCL would be my top top school for a number of reasons which I won't go into.

I'm afraid my GCSE's let me down, they're not bad at all and I'm very proud of them, but I find it hard to gauge how good they are for a GCSE heavy university.

I got 9 8 8 8 8 7 7 7 7 7 7. So 5 9/8s, and 6 7s. As much as I want to go to King's, my primary goal is to get in SOMEWHERE, and I'd rather apply strategically and get in somewhere else, than risk it and not get in anywhere. So with these GCSEs, would a really high UCAT be needed to support it. Even if I did well on the UCAT, would it be better to apply elsewhere?

Sorry, this must be a question you guys get 1000 times a day, but my school, teachers and family are no help. It's always " you got all As and A*s of course you will get in" they don't understand much about the process, or that these GCSEs are kinda 'middling' for a med applicant.

Anyways, the work all you people do on here is amazing, I and I'm sure everybody else really appreciate it. Thank you for any insight.
