Question about phone touchscreens

Will phone companies adopt another type of touchscreens in the future instead of the capacitive touchscreens ? i ask because the responsitive doesn't respond to people who suffer from zombie finger.

Highly doubt it. We used to have resistive touchscreens which required pressure but those are long gone.

Potentially, if a technology that is better and cheaper than capacitive touchscreens can be developed. But we can't possibly say what that type of touchscreen might be.

If something like the Sensel touchpad could be made cheaper and ported into touchscreens (currently it's a touchpad product) then that could be one example of a product which might replace traditional capacitive touchscreens.
