GCSEs for Medicine

I’m currently year 10 and I’m getting some good mock grades back. I’m just wondering, across my 10 GCSEs, what should my grades look like for a good chance of being accepted into medical school. Luckily, my strongest subjects are maths and sciences.

Also, will they take the school I achieve the grades at into consideration? As my school “requires improvement” from its last inspection.

Thanks
Depends entirely which medical school you apply to. Some medical schools put more emphasis on GCSEs (e.g. Oxford, Cardiff), some put less or none (e.g. Cambridge, Imperial). Have a look at this page: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/results/gcse/medical-school-gcse-requirements to get some sense of the variation among medical schools (and what might be competitive for some).
