Please help ! Should I resit my GCSE alongside my A levels to have a better chance to

Hi,
I'm in year 13 of sixthform and I sit my a levels this summer 2024, I will be doing a A level biology , chemistry and Religious studies. I want to go into medical school however my ucat was terrible and therefore I plan on doing a gap year and reapplying for medicine this autumn however I still submitted a UCAS application this year for medicine and received 1 medical school interview( I don't know the results but I didn't go too well). The problem is during GCSE I got diagnosed and was ill and this affected my performance and I didn't get strong GCSEs so do you think i should resit them this summer 2024 alongside my a levels to make my medical school application stronger ?
GCSE grades (achieved)
Maths-6
Biology -6
Chemistry -6
Physics -6
English literature -8
English language -7
History -9
Religious Studies -9
Sociology -8
French -5
Predicted A levels grades

Chemistry-A
Religious Studies- A*
Is it worth the time to resit my GCSE sciences this year or will it be too stressful and I should just focus on my a levels grades for this summer?
Would really appreciate any advice or suggestions !

To have nay significant impact on your application, you would need to resit at least 4 GCSEs and get 8/9s in them. It would be tough to get up to the 8 or 9 x 8/9s you would need for those that shortlisted more heavily using GCSEs. You have good enough grades to be shortlisted at lots of med schools, if you have a good UCAT, so it would benefit you far more to work on this.

If you get a really high UCAT next time around, depending on where you apply your GCSE grades wont matter much, I'd say to focus on your A Levels for now,and then focus on your UCAT in the summer. For most medical schools your GCSE grades meet the minimum requirements at the very least.
