retake gcse

should i retake my chem gcse in november because i got a grade 6 with teacher predictions,
do universities look at my gcse grades and do they care if i retake this exam
im taking chem in a level btw
advice pls

The fact you 'retook' won't matter.

What degree are you looking to apply for? Will you need a higher grade in it?

Usually they don't look at GCSE grades, or if they do it's usually maths and English language. A 6 is a decent grade anyway, so unless you want to retake it then I wouldn't give yourself extra stress. It's better to invest more time in getting a stronger a level grade than worrying about GCSEs
